Hello, friends!
Life brings changes, that’s for sure. It was time to shake up my life a bit, and so I did . I’m excited to share some updates about my current work life. After a fulfilling 10 years with Little Unicorn, I’ve transitioned into a more challenging and rewarding position with Smartaira. Having done contract work for Smartaira for the past five years, this move feels like a natural progression. I’m thrilled to take on new challenges and grow further in my career. I loved my time with Little Unicorn but it was time to move on. I love everyone at LU and honestly, it has taken some time to figure out who I am without it.

One of the greatest advantages of my new role is that I continue to work remotely from my home in Hawaii. This flexibility allows me to maintain a healthy work-life balance, which is incredibly important to me. Being able to run to the beach at lunch, facetime my grandchildren before they go to bed or help my daughter figure out where she left her car keys are parts of my life I don’t want to give up with a typical 9-5 office job. Moving to Hawaii is the dream but so is life/work balance. Remote work is what most of us desire, right?
Over the summer, I had the opportunity to solo travel through Japan for a month, immersing myself in the culture and exploring new places. It was an unforgettable adventure that rejuvenated my spirit. I love the history, the people, the 7-11 food..let’s be honest. Mostly, traveling alone was a lesson that I can do things that are a little scary at first. The trip was amazing and needs a post of its own eventually.

What is the new job?
I will still be working to help build brand reputation for Smartaira. This position has me working with 7 new properties. I am excited to help build excitement, value and loyalty to an already established and growing brand. It is nice when a company puts customer care first. Smartaira is customer focussed which makes my job there important and rewarding. I get to use my degree, my experience and my creativity. It is really such a great opportunity. It is a new job, but feels like home too.

October and part of November , were spent visiting family across Iowa, Washington, D.C., and Connecticut. Time with my kids and their families is precious and scare so I try and savor it when I am there. After 58 flights in 54 weeks, I’m home for a while and looking forward to enjoying the holiday season. I plan to indulge in some festive activities like holiday decorating a Christmas speakeasy here in Waikiki, baking cookies, listening to Pandora Christmas music, sipping on peppermint lattes, and watching all the Christmas movies I can. I plan to post on here more often but I can’t make any promises..I might be at the beach.
